Senior Electronics Engineer – PCBA Test

Let’s talk about the team and you

Our Test Engineering team is located in Sydney and Singapore Manufacturing Innovation Hubs. Test Engineering Team manage and lead design and functional test and provide design for test (DFT) guidance to Product Development team. The team interface with external vendors and suppliers to ensure test requirements are transferred, adhered to and validated against.

We are currently seeking applications from PCBA Test Expert to join our Test Engineering team and is based in Singapore. It is envisaged that a suitable candidate will progress to the full requirement set of this role with training / guidance options from the Sydney based team as well as formal training options.

Let's talk about responsibilities

As the Senior Electronics Engineer – PCBA Test, you will work closely with suppliers and product development team to lead and manage the design/functional test activities for new product developments and continuous improvements:

  • Project manage In-Circuit and Function Test (ICT/FCT) capability, development and deployment to meet ResMeds Global manufacturing needs
  • Manage the ICT / FCT requirements generation and challenge ICT / FCT providers output to ensure compliance
  • Implement and manage remote monitoring of supplier test statistics, such as test time and first pass yield, to ensure ongoing testing is performed faithfully according to the requirements and that first pass yields are reported accurately
  • Delivery of test solutions without compromising quality and delivery of components or finished products.
  • Keep up to date with Global best practice in PCBA test
  • Working with geographically distributed suppliers and aligning them with ResMed manufacturing / quality requirements
  • Ensure smooth running and responsive relationships are initiated and maintained with ResMed PCBA Manufacturers and engineering service providers
  • When/if major quality issues arise with particular suppliers, support the resolution of these, which may require on-site visits, liaising between various ResMed departments and the contract manufacturer
  • Item Specifications: Development/modification of test specifications in collaboration with Product Development, Test Engineering and various global PCBA suppliers.
  • Capacity: assisting with monitoring of supplier capacity (including tooling capacity where applicable.)
  • Administration – ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Quality Compliance – ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with established quality control policies/work instructions.

Let’s talk Qualifications and Experience:

  • 6 to 8 years’ solid experience in testing within a manufacturing environment and management of suppliers
  • Electronics and Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Boundary Scan Experience (JTAG (Provision) application experience preferred)
  • Altium (CAD) with PCB layout and CAD for schematic analysis
  • C and LabView Programming language or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
  • Experience in managing cross functional global teams, with excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to rapidly retain and utilise technical details and concepts
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and work remotely as some team members are based in Sydney
