Meet Erika Goh, Graduate Engineer, Product Manager

Tell us about your experience as Graduate at ResMed.

I’ve had such a great time at ResMed with the Global Product Management team so far. It’s been extremely exciting, fulfilling and humbling to be a part of a team that is so dedicated to their work, and to have the opportunity to learn from them. Fresh out of university, everyone I’ve spoken to has been so patient in taking me through the know-hows of the company and was very responsive to the many questions I had for them. I was part of  a couple of projects within the first two months of joining, all of which have left me looking forward to my next one.

What makes ResMed special to you? Why did you join the Graduate Program?

In all honesty, the work culture at ResMed and the camaraderie within the team is great – everyone’s so readily available and enthusiastic to help when needed, and there’s a sort of spirit within the company that can be felt just being surrounded by the team. Knowing that the work we put in has an impact on the lives of our patients and customers is especially inspiring. On top of this, there’s something unique about working at ResMed which involves tons of collaborative work across functions, with everyone just being so familiar in their own area of expertise.

I chose to join the Graduate Program because of a few factors – alignment of my personal aspirations with ResMed’s core mission, the work culture I’ve heard from people at ResMed, and to have the opportunity to learn about Global Product Management and what it entails to be in a team working on such a rich and diverse portfolio of products.

What is the one superpower that you unlocked being in the Graduate Program?

The boldness and drive to inspire change, the tenacity to embrace the impossible challenges, and the ability to impact the lives of patients across the globe, one sleep at a time.

What advice will you give to fellow students seeking to find internship at ResMed?

As with any application, I think it’s imperative that you know three key things.

Firstly, know yourself well – what your strengths and weaknesses are, and what experiences you’ve had in school/work that you could take to ResMed. Secondly, with a good grasp of yourself, determine how can you use these to contribute to the team in a way that’s aligned with your motivations in life, as well as the company’s core mission and vision. Lastly, at the end of the day, I do think it’s extremely important that you understand ResMed as a whole, be it the products we have, the work culture or essentially, what forms the company’s core. You’ll want to join ResMed knowing that you would be challenged in a certain way, so knowing how ResMed can contribute to your development is crucial as well.

I would encourage you to be open-minded and curious in all you do, because it’s through this that you discover new things about yourself, the industry, and the work you do.

The best thing about being a Graduate at ResMed is….

The flexibility I get in what I do, the support and open-mindedness of my teammates and the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful and inspiring amidst people with great heart and dedication.
