During the application process, you will create a profile in our recruiting system that allows you to track your application status. To view your status at any point log into your candidate profile and you can view the stage your application is in.

Please note: We extend official job offers verbally over the phone after a formal interview process followed with a written employee offer from our People Team. We do not extend virtual job offers through email outside of the @resmed.com domain and any email purporting to be a job offer from ResMed should not be considered genuine.

Recruitment Fraud Alert

It has come to our attention that various individuals and organizations are offering false employment opportunities on behalf of ResMed. Such fraudulent communications may come from various sources, including fake websites and/ or unsolicited emails. These communications seek to obtain personal data and payment from victims by offering jobs at ResMed that do not exist.

ResMed is committed to building trust and transparency with their candidates and safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of candidates’ personal data. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how ResMed collects, uses, and protects your personal data in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy applies to you if you are a candidate for any one of the ResMed group of companies (“ResMed“, “we” and “your“).  ResMed ensures that your personal data is processed and protected under the principles and safeguards in the applicable local legislation. Your rights regarding your personal data that ResMed collects will be in accordance with applicable local laws.

 

What personal data do we collect about you?

The following describes the categories of personal data ResMed may collect about you:

  • your IP address
  • your browser type, browser activity and related information
  • information about the computer system you are using including the type of system and operating software
  • any information you may enter or share with us
  • your title, first name and last name (and any previous names you have held)
  • your gender
  • your nationalities
  • your telephone number
  • your address and email address
  • information about your legal right to work in the jurisdiction where the role is based
  • your qualifications and experience
  • any other information you provide on your resume or during the recruitment process.

Through certain technologies employed by our websites and mobile applications, we also collect other information about you in accordance with our cookies-notice.

How do we obtain your personal data?

We collect personal data directly from you or during your recruitment process with us. ResMed may collect this data when you give it to us directly or through the ResMed’s career websites. As part of the recruitment process, we may also obtain your personal data from public sources or third parties, including for verification and background check purposes..

 

In most circumstances where the personal data that we collect about you is held by a third party, we will obtain your permission before we seek out this information from such sources (such permission may be given directly by you, or implied from your actions depending the local laws of the country in which you are employed).

 

Purposes for Collecting Personal Data

We generally collect personal data (including Sensitive Personal Data) as reasonably necessary for the following business or commercial purposes as permitted by applicable laws:

To manage our recruitment process

To respond to your requests for information or materials, and to create, develop and maintain our relationship with you

To communicate with you via telephone and unencrypted email and text messages (SMS messages), including to send you information

To conduct internal statistical analyses and surveys

To fulfil our legal, regulatory and risk management obligations, including establishing, exercising or defending legal claims

How long would we keep your data?

 

Where we process your information, we will only do so for the length of time necessary to fulfil the above purposes, and then delete or destroy the information. Retention of documents may be subject to other legal obligations, depending on your country.

How do we protect your personal data?

 

ResMed employs a number of different security and privacy controls to protect your data and to comply with applicable data protection laws. Despite the security measures employed by ResMed, you should be aware that it is impossible to guarantee absolute security with respect to information. If ResMed is aware that your personal data has been subject to a data breach, ResMed will follow applicable laws with respect to breach notifications.

With whom do we share your personal data?

 

Employees in the ResMed group of companies – we may share your personal data with our employees (including other members of the ResMed group of companies) who require such information to help us with Recruitment Process, Talent Acquisition and Background checks.

In addition, personal data may be disclosed:

  • to Talent Acquisition teams
  • in exceptional circumstances, to senior managers on a need-to-know basis and in accordance with all applicable laws
  • where the personal data is publicly available and the disclosure is allowed under applicable law; or with your consent, where such consent is required by law.

Legal requests and investigations – we may disclose any data about you when such disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud or to comply with any statute, law, rule or regulation of any governmental authority or any order of any court of competent jurisdiction depending on your country specific law.

Third-party service providers and agents – We may, from time to time, outsource some or all of the operations of our business to third-party service providers. In such cases, it will be necessary for us to disclose your data to those service providers. In some cases, the service providers may collect data directly from you on our behalf. These third-party service providers are only authorized to use your data to provide us with the service. ResMed is using reasonable effort to ensure third party service providers are assessed for compliance with privacy laws.

Business transfers – As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy companies, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, data generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the commitments made in any pre-existing privacy notice or policy. In addition, if ResMed or all of its assets are acquired, your data may be one of the transferred assets.

 

Cross border transfers

In certain circumstance your personal data will be transferred outside of your home jurisdiction and as a result, your personal data may be collected, used, processed, stored or disclosed in Australia, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and in the United States of America and in some cases, other countries. We may only transfer your personal data to another country, including within the ResMed group of companies, if this is required or permitted under applicable laws.

For candidates in the European Union (“EU”), subject to ResMed processing your personal data based on one of the grounds set out in paragraph 3 above, we transfer personal data using EU model contractual clauses.

Your rights and obligations; Country-Specific Provisions

You have the right to update or rectify your personal data so that you can help ResMed maintain accurate data about you. Although you may change your data, we may be legally required to maintain such prior data about you. Therefore, please understand  that all of your historical data may not  be removed from our databases at the time you notify us of changes. For candidates in the EU

If you are a candidate located in the EU or the United Kingdom, the ResMed entity that employs you is the controller of your data. As data controller, that ResMed company is responsible for ensuring that the processing of your data complies with applicable EU and other applicable non-EU data protection laws, including but not limited to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and, where applicable, its national GDPR implementation law pursuant to Article 88 GDPR (Processing in the context of employment).

Under the ‘Processing in the context of employment’ and other applicable data protection laws you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data. You have a right to request from us access, rectification, restriction, and deletion of your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing to the processing, subject to limitations set out in applicable law.

In some circumstances, you may also have the right to have your data ported to another organization. How can you exercise your rights provided under the CCPA and other applicable state laws?

If you are a resident of California any state in the United States that provides for similar data subject rights as candidates, you have the following rights applicable to personal data that we collect about you in relation to your employment with ResMed:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose to you the personal data we collect, use, or disclose, and information about our data practices;
  • Right to Request Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete your personal data that we have collected from or about you;
  • Right to Correct: You have a right to request that we correct inaccurate personal data maintained about you; and
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Under such United States state laws, you may exercise these rights yourself or you may designate an authorized agent to make these requests on your behalf. Please note, we will request your authorized agent to provide a signed permission from you as proof that they are authorized to submit the request on your behalf. We may also request that you verify your own identity with us directly or confirm directly with us that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request.

Australian candidates

This Privacy Policy does not apply to “Candidate Records” where those records relate to a current or former relationship and relate to the recruitment process of the candidate. This means that if you are or were recruited as an employee by one of our Australian ResMed entities, we may use Employee Records about you, as and how we wish so long as those Employee Records relate to you and your current or former employment relationship with us. An “Employee Record” is defined as a record of personal data relating to your employment, including health information about you, your engagement, training, disciplining or your resignation, the termination of your employment, the terms and conditions of your employment, your personal and emergency contact details, your performance or conduct, your employment, your salary or wages, your membership of a profession or trade association, your trade union membership, your leave or your taxation, banking or superannuation affairs.
